Sinha's SEBI

I have a piece in today's Economic Times titled "Some policy tips for Sinha’s Sebi". It's really a collage of previous columns that I have done on stock exchanges, mutual funds, takeover regulations and insider trading.

I end with:
Unfortunately, these prescriptions will be hard to administer, partly because reversing the existing policy or junking investor-unfriendly reports sounds like confused policy-making . Also because many changes have the optics of being investor-friendly , while helping entrenched management (exchanges , promoters), destroying product classes (mutual funds) or just being inappropriately harsh (insider trading). Good luck.
