SEBI and SEC appointments

Since I wrote about the inordinate delay in appointments at the US SEC and India's SEBI, both seem to have progressed. The senate confirmed the appointment of 37 year old Professor Troy Paredes to the US SEC. The Indian regulator SEBI also now has two new members M.S. Sahoo (surprisingly, the SEBI press release gives no information about his background at all - he is from the Indian Economic Service and has previously served at SEBI) and K.M. Abraham (not yet announced on the SEBI website, but apparently confirmed - he is an I.A.S. officer). All appointments have been extra low key.
