Governance - Citizens' charter

The Parliament is proposing an earth shaking bill, which has hardly caught the attention of the media: The Right of Citizens for Time Bound Delivery of Goods and Services and Redressal of their Grievances Bill, 2011.

This could be as important as the Right to Information Act in terms of impacting the common citizen. I am not sure how well the law has turned out for states like Delhi which have state laws. But at least the proposal is hugely promising for all of us and a big smack across the face of corruption.

See the PRS analysis of the Bill. The Bill is also available from the same page.
